FAQ -- WiMAX -- missing WiFi tab in Home Gateway modem

Problem

In order to reduce CPU load, some users turn off the WiFi function in their Home Gateway modem and offload the WiFi functions to a separate WiFi Access Point device. At least one user found that, several days after turning off the WiFi, the WiFi tab (under Networking area) in the Home Gateway web interface had "disappeared".

Resolution

If you want to re-activate the WiFi functions in your Home Gateway and the WiFi tab has disappeared, the only known resolution is to perform a Factory Reset and set the modem up again by adding any customised SSID and Authentication (WPA-PSK) settings.

Any other settings that you may have changed within the Home Gateway will also be lost.

After doing the Factory Reset, connect an Ethernet cable between PC and Home Gateway and login to the Home Gateway via http://192.168.1.1/

Navigate to the Networking tab
Select the WiFi tab (left side)
Click NEXT Button (bottom of page)
Under "Use Default" – click on down arrow and change value from Auto Define to User Define
Under "Common Settings" – change Default SSID to your preferred custom SSID
Under "Security Settings" – change Default WPA-PSK to your preferred Authentication method
Click APPLY
