SOLUTION -- WiMAX -- Home Gateway modem and WiFi Printer

Several users have reported difficulty in getting a new wireless printer to work with their Home Gateway modem.

WiFi connection problems usually can be explained in terms of the following root causes:
(1) mismatch of WiFi Channel Number
(2) mismatch of security protocol
(3) mismatch of encryption type
(4) incorrect password

To correct the problems listed above:
(1) force the Home Gateway to use a particular WiFi channel ID instead of the default Auto setting. Suggest using channels 9, 10 or 11 (but do not go beyond 11 as this may be the cause of the inability to connect).
(2) choosing WPA2 (sometimes listed as WPA2-PSK or WPA2-PrivateSharedKey) is usually a safe bet, but if in doubt check the printer manual to see what protocols are supported
(3) choosing AES encryption is usually a safe bet (some printers don't support the usual alternative which is TKIP; if in doubt, check the printer manual)
(4) double-check that you are entering the password (a.k.a. Private Shared Key or PSK) correctly
