Phone / VOIP

Your Wimax service offer a phone bundle but it appears your new LTE service does not. Are there any plans to offer this or is it possible to run a 3rd party VOIP service?

The following has been copied from the LTE FAQ.

Does the new product include a VOIP solution?

No, the new product does not include a VOIP offering.

With regards to 3rd party VOIP service, I would imagine you would use a program/app that utilises an internet connection such as Skype etc.

Yes thread dig.

Yes you can run a 3rd party VOIP service.

After being forcibly migrated from our WiMAX with VOIP plan to LTE with none, I established a VOIP plan with engine (who were the previous VOIP providers to Vivid) with the net cost being the same pre-migration. They included a VOIP box (which connects to the LTE modem) for "free" if I signed up for a 12 month plan. Sounds good ? Yep, until you get your first bill and they hit you with $20 postage for the VOIP box lol. While there may have been something on their website re this fee, I didn't see it. No doubt it was buried in 1 font somewhere.

From my experience, don't expect engine to do anything in any particular hurry or keep any promises. You have to push them to get any result.

But at the end of the day it works.

Sorry to hear about the $20 fee ... but glad the service works okay.
