Possible to sell used devices?

So I have a USB modem just sitting around doing nothing after I bought the ViViFi hotspot and was just wondering, if I sold it, is it possible for the buyer to activate the device? It used to be linked to my account before I moved my Unlimited account to the ViViFi and I don't know if that would affect it or not...
Alternatively, could I send it to Vivid so they can sell it as a 'Refurbished' device?

P.S. the USB modem still has its original packaging and everything.

2nd-hand devices can be activated ... BUT ... if the old user never properly paid up their account and there is money owing, the new user might find that the device cannot be changed over until that money is paid ... so the new user needs to be aware of that risk.

But yes, it can be activated. What I suggest you do is first talk to vivid's support/accounts team directly and verify this with them. Give them the MAC address of the USB modem. Ask them to give you something in writing (e.g. an email) confirming that it can be activated by someone else, so then you can show that to a propspective purchaser.

Thanks for the info. And I'm pretty sure there's no outstanding payments on that device.
