Attention VIVIDWIRELESS customers,
I'm sure if you have noticed on the speedtest.net site under the IP Address on the bottom left hand corner of your screen it now says WAWB Pty. instead of Vividwireless Pty Ltd. What does this mean for Vividwireless and does anybody know what WAWB stands for? Frosty?
I do know it is linked to Vividwireless which is furthermore linked to Optus SingTel.
I think something is happening with Vividwireless and Optus really soon...
I will be posting a new topic in a few minutes about Optus and Vividwireless with my 'theory'.

I just did a speed test on what you have stated and it shows Vividwireless Pty Ltd.

Strange? Mine still says WAWB Pty.??

Here Guys check this out. Don't worry about the speeds... I have to just live with such speeds and use mobile data... It so congested in my area due to no ADSL... 2am the download is 9mbps and upload is 1.5mbps.....

Frosty-MODERATOR wrote 1 year ago

No idea why it would report that ... WAWB is not something that I recognise

Warmturtle wrote 1 year ago

I get WAWB also

I think WAWB Pty Ltd was the what Vividwireless use to be called. Not sure though. Got it from here, but looks suspicious.

Bloomberg is a reputable info source I think. It's on the Internet, so it must be true (!). lol

Prior to vividwireless there was Unwired Australia and there were some four-letter codes associated with it: AKAL and BKAL.

I have this idea in my head that those are/were to do with the code under which they owned or operated the spectrum which they had control over.

So WAWB might be related in some way to that idea.

For whatever reason, it may differ State to State. As in my Post #1, I am in Sydney which shows Vividwireless on speed test, where the others are in Perth that show WAWB.

Or is the problem with the Speed test, website to where it gathers it source from.
