In short:

* I don't have any information to hand about any 4G LTE services (Optus, or Vivid itself) ... but I would expect that with the recent acquisition of Vivid by Optus that the original plans for vivid which were announced last year are being reviewed and probably revised

* I doubt that the ViViFi would be able to be re-engineered to support LTE, but again, I don't have any information on this. There are two models of ViViFi though. Just have to wait and see ...

I would think they wouldn't work without modification as they run a WIMAX antennae which I doubt is compatible with LTE.

Hi Frosty,

Now that Optus is starting to rollout 2300MHz should we be expecting to see a degredation of the Vivid service? Is there a way of determining when Optus 4g is coming to a nearby tower?

Thanks

I am hoping that there is some major improvement in the system. It has been quite a while since there have been any realistic news about the system. It's been over a year since there was any news about development. WHAT is going on with Vividwireless?

Sorry, I don't have any information that I can post publicly, as I am bound by confidentiality. Will just have to wait for public announcements by Optus and/or Vividwireless I'm afraid.

Although I'm content for the moment on the current Vivid 4G, is there any plan to migrate Vivid users over to a LTE service?

Please see my last comment (#5 above) ... its not a subject that I can comment on authoritatively: what I do know I can't share because of confidentiality; what I don't know means I would have to speculate, which doesn't help either.

Interesting development that bodes well for current Vivid customers... a potentially viable upgrade path.

If they're looking to do any Perth trials let me know, I know how to put it though it's paces :)
