URGENT HELP - SLOW INTERNET DUE TO CHANGE OF TOWER

Hi All,

need some urgent help regarding my home gateway. Just got vividwireless earlier this month and was getting 9mbs download speed in Nedlands area and was very happy with it until Friday when I noticed the modem was showing 2 signal instead of the usual 3 and ran a speedtest which resulted in 1mbs download. I called up tech support and was informed that my towers have changed to a one significantly further away and they could not put me into the one I was usually connected to.

Hopefully someone has encountered the same problem before and able to help me out with this, it has been an extremely stressful weekend due to this problem and the lack of proper internet. :(

Firstly, you may have posted in the wrong section. Did you just get the Huawei LTE Modem? If it is the LTE Modem, I will place your topic in the Technical Support - LTE section, so not to confuse for others to read.

Have a look on this Optus Status Coverage Map http://www.optus.com.au/about/network/service-status by putting your postcode in. Click on a tower to give you latest status.

I did a quick check and found the majority of towers around Nedlands are in a yellow colour, and seems that update work is being carried out. The work is most likely being done by Optus, not Vividwireless.

This is most likely the reason support changed you to another tower.

In case you do not know, Optus owns Vividwireless, but Vividwireless is a separate entity to Optus, and they operate on different networks but on the same 2300MHz frequency.
