Wimax - How does it work?

Some knowledge around the technology would be great. Can you correct me if I'm wrong?

- So can you confirm that Vivid wireless LTE plan, is that actually using the mobile antenna through like (telstra or nbn)?

- Also, Vivid wireless WIMAX, where are these antennas and where are they housed? Can you please explain where they are, are they in the mobile shelters that Telstra and Optus have strategically placed, or are you having the antennas built within buildings?

- What frequency or band are these WiMAX modems operating at?

Thanks

Hi Daniel,

The vividwireless LTE service is delivered via the Optus 4G LTE network in the 2.3GHz frequency range (2300MHz).

The vividwireless WiMAX service is in the same 2.3GHz frequency range, but vividwireless built their own network, so they have their own antennas and so on. Locations of this equipment is not something that is usually discussed.

Cheers,
Steve

If you want more technical info about WiMAX, maybe start with this compilation of notes:

and follow the link from there to the WiMAX 360 website.
