The switchover to LTE was easy as.
But the performance is taking a huge step backwards.

Under WiMAX, I would routinely get speeds in the order of 8 to 10Mb down and 2 to 5 Mb up. With LTE, the download speed is most of the time between 4 and 7 Mb, but the upload speed is now less than 100Kb.
Considering we're in the 21st Century, that's atrocious.

the nearest tower (line of sight, about 300m) used to give me signal strength in the order of -58dB under WiMAX. The new LTE modem is currently showing

Now that the old network is shutting down, they should be able to re-farm the bandwidth that the WiMAX towers were using and make it available to the LTE towers. At least, I hope so, as it is a reasonable expectation. Backhaul similarly should be available to the LTE network. Not sure how long that is likely to take though.

Thanks Steve
I'll keep an eye on it and report back in a month's time.
