Old gateway modem works new 4g modem no coverage

I am new to vividwireless. I have been paying exorbitant costs with another Telco and wanted the unlimited usage that Vivid offers. Two of my neighbours have gateway modems and get excellent coverage. I tried one at my house, all good. So I bought a new Vividwireless modem (4G) and I have no coverage. Why does the old gateway modem work and the new one doesn't? Is there anything I can do to make it work?

Did you check your address using the coverage area to see if you were covered or not. http://www.vividwireless.com.au/home-page

This FAQ explains the difference between the Home Gateway and the new LTE http://www.vividwireless.com.au/support-faq#t56n187

You would be best to contact Tech Support and see where you stand in returning the modem to place of purchase.

That FAQ explains it on the vividwireless website, but in short:

it is a completely different technology (LTE instead of WiMAX); and

it uses a completely different physical network (Optus 4G instead of vividwireless' WiMAX).
