Slow speed Postcode 4154

Have had Vivid since Feb this year. Speeds were good for a while but for the last 3 months have been gradually deteriorating. Was averaging 5 MBps. Now most of the time 3Mbps down to 1 or less morning and evening.
Is this just due to increased number of users (and therefore not viable) or is there a fixable issue? All nearby towers show green on the map.
Thanks

As you said the towers around that Postcode are Green. Looking a bit further wide, there is one tower at Manly and 2 towers just north of Wynnum West that are currently having maintenance done that began on 2/10 with end date of 5/10. Optus carries out the work.

What happens when towers do have work done on them or there is a problem, customers who normally connect to those towers, are moved to the next best tower that the Vividwireless modem finds. As this happens, a tower can be congested and then the same occurs to move customers to another tower and so on, a cascade effect.

If by the end of Friday 5/10, there is no improvement in your speed, I would suggest contacting Tech Support. You can contact Support now if you wish in case there is a problem or other work being done in your area that is not yet shown on the map.

In regards to your comment about increased numbers, I have partially extracted a comment Frosty had made on a different topic. Note the comment about NBN or ADSL/ADSL2 may not apply to you.

"The other comment worth making, even though it may be obvious, is that there will be a LOT of people like you in your area, unable to get NBN, unable to get ADSL/ADSL2, and therefore relying on wireless 4G signals from the mobile infrastructure. That puts a lot of stress on the wireless infrastructure in that location. There's only a certain amount of bandwidth available; it is a finite and quite limited resource."

Thanks. It is as I thought. It is a difficult situation for those of us who are last to get the NBN with no real plan in place for the interim. With ADSL being left to rot 4g was the only option, but’s it is not surprisingly, getting overloaded now.
